It’s Okay To Be Amazing

As human beings, we are created to have purpose in our lives. We’re all meant to be great, to be remembered for the greatness that lives in us. We all have dreams and goals and aspirations. But most of us are too afraid to pursue them. We just can’t let that happen anymore. We have to live like my cousin Carol and let that fear drive us to be who we want to be. What we dreamed of becoming as kids. We must not waste a single breath dwelling on what could have been. Or becoming someone who had so much potential to be a great artist or dancer or doctor or mother or whatever you wanted to be. Don’t be like that person you know with wasted potential. Don’t be someone who gave up after failing just once. Be strong. Be human. Be great like my cousin Carol.

“When a woman rises up in glory, her energy is magnetic and her sense of possibility contagious” (Marrianne Williamson). And my God, has she risen up in glory. You should have seen all the broken hearts who said goodbye that day. So many people I’ve never met were feeling my pain. It was overwhelming.

Live well, and your legacy will never die. R.I.P. Carol Lorraine Cubbage

See you on the other side.
